Company Seals Gas Well Leak off Louisiana Coast | Weather Underground.
Last week I was in Louisiana at a workshop on the Gulf of Mexico Restoration. There it is common to know they daily have oil leaks/spills. Some may be small and alone seem insignificant but the small amounts here and there around the Gulf and up the Mississippi river combined would be a much bigger problem.
It is my feeling that the small incidents that are common are prof that the oil industries need to have a no tolerance for oil spill seepage or incidents. Until that time it is a major mistake for us to continue to permit additional locations, that could add to more disasters to our ecosystem.
I know the majority of the population does not perceive a problem. They don’t eat seafood, or depend on the products for their lively hood, but in the end the dead zones along our coast are proof that humans are having a devastating impact on our planet.
